About Margaret

Having grown up beside the wild Atlantic Ocean in Donegal and now living by the Irish Sea in
Skerries, Margaret’s work is greatly inspired by the beauty of nature, the places she has visited, the
seasons and most of all, colour, light and joy.
Having always loved painting from a young age, Margaret returned to her passion in 2018. Previous
to that she has taken courses in various crafts, including Stained Glass in NCAD and Silversmithing
with Ed Cooke and, recently, Resin Art and Design.

Much of her work is intuitive, using a layered painting process in which images and stories emerge
organically from the deep source of creativity within.
It is a joyful process, in the flow of creativity, a combination of meditation and mindfulness.

She also enjoys creating more representational work, especially the challenge of capturing the
beauty and essence of nature.
Margaret’s work has been shown in several exhibitions, both solo and group shows. She also
regularly donates paintings to various Charity Fundraisers.

Presently, delighted to be an online student of the renowned Cornwall Artist, David Mankin,
exploring abstract seascapes and landscapes, in exciting and experimental ways.
Always learning, exploring and evolving as an artist.

A proud member of Fingal Art Collective .
