About Maria

I reside in Skerries, Co. Dublin and was born in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.                

I am an abstract painter. and also  do representational work for commissions. I work in  acrylic paint mostly, and sometimes use oil paint or mixed media..

My current work is based on the idea of Impermanence and  layers of change over time,  sourcing from both the rural and urban  landscape affected by erosion and corrosion.

I am a member of VAI.   Initially I trained and worked in Graphic Design.   I have since gained an Hons Degrees in Creative Art, and Art History.

My work has been exhibited in group exhibitions e.g. The Old Market House,Art Centre , Dungarvan Co..Waterford,  2oten Gallery, Waterford city,   Farmleigh Gallery. Dublin,    Artlink, Saldanha Gallery, Fort Dunree, Buncrana, Co.Donegal,  The Dunmore Gallery/Restaurant, Rathmines, Dublin, The Stables Gallery, Mount Congreve, Co. Waterford,

I would hope my paintings connect and resonate with the viewer, through their own feelings, memories and interpretations.
