About Pauline Wong
Pauline Wong is a self-taught visual artist based in Fingal. Inspired by the greats of the Impressionist art movement, her use of colours and textures seek to capture the soul of Ireland’s beautiful landscape, rather than to recreate it exactly on canvas.
Originally from Malaysia, she had always wanted to pursue the arts, however, culture and convention saw her taking to journalism, banking and research instead; the bustling capital city of Kuala Lumpur was too hectic and chaotic for an artist to truly grow. However, her love for art flourished when she moved to Ireland in 2021 as she found her place among like-minded creative souls, and she now pursues the arts as a profession, alongside being a stay-at-home mother to her 3-year-old boy.
Currently, she is a member of the Fingal Art Collective, a not-for-profit organisation of artists based in North County Dublin, and will be participating in several curated art exhibitions in and around Fingal county throughout this year. She has also exhibited locally in support of Donabate and Portrane Against Racism, a group dedicated towards promoting inclusion, acceptance and diversity.
